Senior IT Technician

Our Client is a growing I.T. Consulting firm in the Calgary area – servicing the Small and Medium Business market (SMB).  They are primarily a Dell/Microsoft/VMWare shop.

They have an immediate requirement for a full-time field based I.T. Consultant with a Network Administration and Support background. The ideal candidate will have a post secondary education (SAIT / Mount Royal College or similar) and 7 – 10 solid years of Network Administration and Support experience. A current MCSE designation will be considered as an alternative to SAIT/Mount Royal College education.

This is a field level position within their organization, and the successful candidate will be dispatched on a daily/weekly basis to a variety of assignments throughout the city of Calgary.

Technical Experience desired:

  • Support of Microsoft Desktop operating systems.
  • Support of typical Workstation application software.
  • Support of Microsoft Server products.
  • Support of Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Experience with other Server level software – SQL Server, Sharepoint, BackupExec, IIS, etc.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals – TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP
  • Microsoft Active Directory experience.
  • Support of ‘Various’ network hardware and software (Sonicwall/cisco/etc).
  • Support of VMWare products, both midrange/enterprise and free.

The ability to switch between working individually to working as part of a small team is also something you should possess.  You should be able to jump into a 20 workstation network, and assume a support role with a short learning curve.
